Astrix(R) Tablet 100mg is a low dose form of aspirin that is designed to prevent blood platelets from sticking together and to help reduce the chance of a blood clot forming. These blood clots could block an artery and therefore reduce or stop blood flow.

CARTIA low dose aspirin has a DUENTRIC coating that is gentle on the stomach* *CARTIA low dose aspirin has a DUENTRIC coating which is designed to protect the stomach from the irritation that can be caused by the aspirin. The enteric coating on CARTIA tablets prevents the aspirin from being released in your stomach where it could cause gastric upsets. The aspirin is released lower down in the intestines, where it is absorbed gradually in the blood stream. Low dose aspirin helps reduce blood stickiness, the tendency of blood to clot. CARTIA helps prevent blood clotting and reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke in patients with known cardiovascular or cerebrovascular disease. For use under medical supervision only. The use of low dose aspirin may be only one component of your medical practitioner’s management plan to prevent you having a further heart attack or stroke.
